Respawn just dropped a mid-season update for Apex Legends, fine-tuning a couple of weapons and addressing a nagging crash issue tied to the Storm Point map.

The patch, shared by Respawn on X, brings a noticeable damage boost to the Bocek Compound Bow. Its max charge damage is now 65, up from 55, and the hit damage from explosive arrows has jumped from 40 to 55. The devs also tweaked the bow's rate of fire, likely aiming to reintroduce it as a viable option in the current meta after players largely moved on from it once it left the Care Package pool.

The Havoc Rifle got a small but meaningful bump as well-base damage was increased from 19 to 20, and recoil control has been improved to make it more reliable in mid-range fights.

In addition to the weapon tuning, Respawn says the patch includes a fix for game crashes occurring on Storm Point. The bug had been frustrating players for weeks, especially in ranked matches where a mid-game disconnect could cost hard-earned RP.

Reactions have been mostly positive so far. "Well that explains why I was so deadly with the bow all of a sudden... lol," one user posted on Reddit shortly after the update went live.

These kinds of balance changes aren't flashy, but they go a long way toward keeping the game feeling fresh and stable. Full patch notes are expected soon on the official site.
